April Athlete of the Month

Michelle Lippincott

Meet our athlete of the month for April, Michelle Lippincott!

You likely have seen Michelle training with Andre in the evenings, just as the group classes are wrapping up. Michelle is a dream personal training client- she’s kind, optimistic, and rarely in a bad mood. When she is having a rough day, she doesn’t allow it to slow her down or take away her smile. She is a newer face at Fit Crew, but the amount of work that she puts in at the gym speaks for itself! Michelle has Supraventricular Tachycardia, better known as SVT… This means that her heart rate can be much higher than the average person, especially during times of increased oxygen demand. Despite this, she has been smashing all of her goals and shows no sign of stopping soon. Congratulations, Michelle!

Tell us about yourself.

I am from Bradenton, FL- born and raised- I’ve never moved away. I graduated from Manatee High School (Go canes Go!) I’m married to my best friend Jedidiah and we have a 10-year-old daughter named Jade- they are both my world. I work in accounts payable at The Oaks Club in Osprey. To be honest, I have no athletic background at all. I didn’t play sports in high school, not even dance. If you ask anyone who knows me they’d agree that I’m not the most coordinated person but that seems to be changing!

How did you get started at Fit Crew?

I got started at Fit Crew back in December and Andre is the person who introduced me to the gym. He was my trainer about two years ago at another gym. Recently, we reconnected on Facebook and he told me all about Fit Crew. I was a little hesitant at first, but I knew it was time for a change and a totally new challenge so I signed up for personal training with him. I’ve been here ever since.

What has been your proudest athletic moment?

My proudest athletic moment has to be just this past March; my daughter and I completed a 5k together. We weren’t perfect and our time was a little longer than I had hoped for, but we did it together and it was awesome. I was able to help motivate her and I got to see how proud she was to have completed it.

What is your favorite and least favorite movement/lift/drill?

I have two favorites, anything to do with legs (I love leg day) and taking the sledgehammer to the tire.
My least favorite? That’s easy, anything that has to do with the sled. We have a love-hate relationship.

What do you think makes Fit Crew different from other gyms that you’ve tried in the past?

Fit Crew is different for other gyms because, to me, it is home. It’s where people from all different walks of life can come together and have a common goal. They cheer each other on, push one another and are there if we fall. FitCrew gets you out of the box and challenges you in so many different ways.
