Featured Athlete - Heather Pye

Heather Pye

Fit Crew’s Athlete of the Month, Heather Pye, has been a consistent force in the 6 a.m. FitCREW Strength and Conditioning class since 2013. Three days a week, Heather is in class pulling Rx weight and setting the bar for classes later in the day.

Heather is never afraid to challenge herself with new personal records lifts. In the words of Andrew Terman, “She is probably one of the most well rounded athletes in the gym.” The hard work she has put in over the past several years has made her one of the female clients others aspire to keep up with on daily workouts.

Congratulations, Heather!

Tell us about yourself.

I was born abroad on the mission field in Paupa New Guinea and moved here with my family when I was 8 years old. I grew up a pastors kid and have been at the same church almost my entire life. I married my high school sweetheart and have been married 15 years. We have 6 children, four are our biological children and the two youngest are our precious foster kids. I get to work with my best friend at her hair salon part time being a receptionist and spend the rest of my time trying to be a good wife and mom. I daily strive to honor the Lord in everything I do and be all He intended me to be. I enjoy being active and find a good workout puts me in the right mindset to have a productive day.

How did you get started at Fit Crew?

I got started at Fit Crew because my cousin Tonya was telling me about this gym that she was very impressed with. I talked my best friend, Amy into joining with me several years ago and we have been coming ever since.

What has been your proudest athletic moment?

My proudest athletic moment was running the Disney Marathon. I also got to represent my husbands company being the only female runner in a rely team for The St. Anthonys Triathlon. Our team placed 2nd in our category.

What’s your favorite exercise? Least favorite?

My favorite lift is a hang clean and back squats. My favorite drills are ghd's, squats, box jumps...etc. Any workout that combines cardio with weights. My least favorite drill is long rows or calories on the ski erg.

What do you think makes Fit Crew different from other gyms that you’ve tried in the past

Fit Crew is different from other gyms because of the competitive, positive atmosphere they have created. Each workout is thought out and encourages you to move faster and lift heavier.

What do you like to do when you’re not training at Fit Crew?

When I'm not at Fit Crew I like to run. I'm constantly pacing myself and would love to one day qualify and run the Boston Marathon.

Tell us a fun fact that we might not already know about you.

A fun fact about me is I have some weird eating habits. I don't waste much of the food on my plate, part of that conditioning was growing up in the jungle. My friends are constantly making fun of me. I eat the entire shrimp, sweet potato and easily have the cleanest bones when it comes to eat wings.
