February Athlete of the Month
Sherelle Chapman
Meet February’s Athlete of the Month, Sherelle
What’s the key to success when it comes to your health? Trusting the process, putting in the work, and repeating. Andre Hendriex’s personal training client, Sherelle, has been inspiring us all at the gym with her persistence and positive attitude. As her trainer says “She’s a quiet, humble, nose to the grindstone type of girl. Once she makes up her mind, that’s it. She’s going to it”. Sherelle has lost 75+ pounds and counting, and her fitness journey has allowed her to stop taking some of her diabetes medication.
Congrats, Sherelle. We’re so happy to be part of your journey.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Sherelle. I am an HR manager at a nursery home in Gulfport, FL. I’m from Sarasota and am a single parent of two daughters. I served five years in the Navy until I left with a honorable discharge.
How did you get started at Fit Crew?
My cousin is Andre Hendriex, who is now my personal trainer!
What has been your proudest athletic moment?
Being taken off of my diabetes medication.
What is your favorite and least favorite movement/lift/drill?
My least favorite movement is the rowing machine but I love both squats and deadlifts.
What do you think makes Fit Crew different from other gyms that you’ve tried in the past?
Working out with my cousin has made all of the difference. He’s really shown me that through dedication and hard work, anything is possible.
What do you like to do when you’re not training at Fit Crew?
I love to spend time with my daughters.
Tell us a fun fact that we might not already know about you.
I used to train at Sarasota Boxing Club. Prior to joining the Navy I thought about competing but ultimately decided not to.
