You may remember Amy from her feature as Athlete of the Month in March of 2017. Nothing much has changed in terms of how dedicated Amy is to working out, however one major thing has changed in her life... The Fit Crew team was excited to learn that Amy and her husband are expecting!
We decided to feature Amy again, as she's continued to work out consistently throughout her pregnancy, bringing the recommendations of her doctor to the gym and working with trainers to modify workouts to fit her abilities. Her motivation and commitment to health is both inspiring and a great example of how health doesn't have to fully take the back burner, even when life presents challenges, opportunities, and changes.
Congratulations, Amy!
Read MoreKurt and Gretchen are two of our longest standing members at the gym. For eleven years, they’ve been consistently coming for workouts at the gym with unwavering focus, determination, and positive attitudes. Kurt and Gretchen are known for encouraging fellow athletes during workouts, even if they have never met them before. We’re proud to have them in our community.
Read MoreWhat’s the key to success when it comes to your health? Trusting the process, putting in the work, and repeating. Andre Hendriex’s personal training client, Sherelle, has been inspiring us all at the gym with her persistence and positive attitude. As her trainer says “She’s a quiet, humble, nose to the grindstone type of girl. Once she makes up her mind, that’s it. She’s going to it”. Sherelle has lost 75+ pounds and counting, and her fitness journey has allowed her to stop taking some of her diabetes medication.
Read MoreAdopting a new lifestyle is difficult, especially when your background isn’t grounded in fitness. Juliana is a testament to the process: when you work hard, believe in the team around you, and are patient, you can achieve things that you never dreamed possible. Currently, Juliana does personal training sessions with Andrew. When asked about her key traits, Andrew said “she has an incredible work ethic. She’s the type that never gives up or complains, and is very optimistic”. In her short time with us, Juliana has accomplished a 24% change with no slowing down in sight. We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see what else you achieve. Congrats, Juliana!
Read MoreAt the culmination of each year, it’s natural to think of the highs and lows of the year before you and the opportunities that lie ahead. When it came time to nominate our final athlete’s of the month for 2017, two clients came to mind who showed overwhelming strength through adversity as well as ongoing positivity and kindness that never wavered.
Denise and LaVonne continued to move forward, show up, be positive, and fight hard through each of their diagnoses of breast cancer – for that, we are thankful and inspired. They remind us that regardless of chance or circumstance, the will to keep going is powerful. Here’s to both of you and to 2018!
Read MoreIt takes a lot to join a new gym. Whether you’re tied to your gym because of the classes, facilities, trainers, or community, it’s a big decision to move on to the next place when the time comes. It always takes a bit of trial and error as well as trust (and sometimes luck) to find the gym that’s right for you – but when you find “your place” everything just falls into place. This month we wanted to feature three of our newest clients who recently made the decision to follow Ray to Fit Crew and join our community of clients: Marisa Butler, Lissette Serrano, and Monica Simpson.
Read MoreDiane joined Fit Crew in May of this year as a personal training client. Over the past five months she has shown an extreme level of dedication and effort, coming to the gym twice a day sometimes while still tending to her family. Mid-October, Diane hit her 50 lb weight loss mark, a huge achievement that was well deserved (and celebrated).
Diane’s positivity is contagious. She’s kind to all and gives encouragement to everyone within the Fit Crew community. We’re so proud of her and happy to have her as part of our gym. Congratulations, Diane! We can’t wait to see what you achieve next.
Read MoreAlice has been attending Fit Crew’s group classes since 2015 and recently began personal training with Andrew. She always has a smile on her face, has a great attitude, and is compassionate for others – especially dogs. When trainers add more weight to her bar she just laughs and gives it a try. Cardio isn’t her favorite, but still, she never quits. Rarely will you hear Alice push back or say that she can’t do something. She’s also an active member of the Fit Crew community, attending many of our events and participating in in-house competitions. Alice won the 1000m row at our rowing competition and recently PR’ed with a 300lb deadlift at our latest event, a supertotal meet. She is unafraid to give it 110% and is always setting the bar higher. We’re glad to have her with us and are so excited to see all that she will accomplish in the future.
Read MoreBrett Infanti has been with Fit Crew since 2014. In the three years since Brett joined, he has not missed a month of group classes, consistently showing up with a great attitude and ready to work. His hard work pays off, as recently he hit at 250 lb clean! Brett is intelligent, hardworking, humble, and extremely strong and we’re excited to announce him as the Athlete of the Month.
Read MoreJeffrey Gonzalez has been a long time client at the gym and his dedication shows. Two years ago he competed in the Havoc games and finished 2nd, he consistently comes for group classes at least 3 times a week (even after moving from Bradenton to Sarasota), and outside of the gym he continues to live a fit and healthy lifestyle by playing soccer. Jeffrey never cuts corners and genuinely enjoys training. Everyone in the gym knows him for how fast he can finish a workout- he jokes that all that energy comes from drinking Cuban coffee. Recently, Jeffrey has been sharing his love for Fit Crew with his friends and family; we’ve been excited to welcome both his Mom and girlfriend to our gym over the last few months.
Read MoreCongratulations to Brent and Robin, our first ever Athlete Couple of the Month. To say that they are a hard working duo would be an understatement. They both consistently come to train and always give it 100% when they are in the gym. Recently, Brent was the overall male winner at our super total competition while Robin came in second place out of the women. Brent and Robin are also a strong part of our community, providing support and encouragement to all of our athletes with a smile on their face and setting a great example for not only their own children, but all of our younger athletes.
